On April 14, 2018, Darion Montize Welch, a 32-year-old African American male from Anniston, Alabama, was found fatally shot in the Anniston area. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Anniston Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His body was subsequently sent to Huntsville for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Darion Welch, affectionately known as "Shoe Maker," was remembered by his community as a loving and humble individual.
