In the summer of 2023, the life of Jonathan Walter Golson, a 39-year-old Caucasian male, was tragically cut short. On the evening of July 3rd, at approximately 10:15 p.m., police officers in Anniston, Alabama, responded to a call about a shooting victim in the 2300 block of Adams Street. Upon their arrival, they found Golson, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led authorities to a potential suspect.
Patrol officers in the nearby city of Weaver made contact with a person of interest, and through their collaborative efforts with Anniston police investigators, probable cause was established to move forward with an arrest. The individual identified and subsequently charged with Golson's murder was 34-year-old Misty Lashea Hardy of Weaver. Hardy was taken into custody and booked into the Calhoun County Jail.
