On August 16, 2020, 28-year-old Anton M. Johnson was fatally shot near the intersection of 12th Street and Noble Street in Anniston, Alabama. He succumbed to his injuries two days later at UAB Hospital. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of 23-year-old Jaquintin Lee Jones, who was charged with causing Johnson's death by shooting him on August 16.
