On October 22, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., 43-year-old Marcello Hopson was shot while sitting in his vehicle at the Chevron gas station located at 16 64th Street North in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding officers discovered Hopson suffering from a gunshot wound; he was subsequently transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, Hopson succumbed to his injuries on October 30, 2022.
