On a Sunday evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the lives of two men were tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. Carlos Antonio Stewart, a 43-year-old male, was killed on October 16, 2022, in a double homicide. The incident also claimed the life of 26-year-old Cornelius Quinterryo Kennedy.
The shooting occurred on 3rd Avenue North, where an argument escalated to violence. In the aftermath of the deadly encounter, investigators identified a suspect in the case.
Carlos Heard was subsequently arrested and is facing charges of murder for the deaths of both Stewart and Kennedy. The case against Heard is proceeding through the Jefferson County court system.
