In the early hours of October 16, 2022, a fatal altercation occurred near a food truck in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 2 a.m., a verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue North, leading to gunfire. Upon arrival, Birmingham Police officers found 43-year-old Carlos Antonio Stewart unresponsive on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
