On October 11, 2022, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Birmingham Police officers responded to reports of a person shot inside a vehicle at the intersection of Penfield Drive and Zion City Road in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 21-year-old Demetris Lendell Silliman Jr., a resident of Center Point, Alabama, inside a black 2010 Chevrolet Impala. Silliman had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel.
