On November 22, 2020, 39-year-old Richard Deshaun Vaughn Jr. was fatally shot outside a Captain D's restaurant located at 9973 Parkway East in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 10:33 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Vaughn lying on the ground in the parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
