On April 2, 2024, at approximately 10:57 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot at a residence in the 900 block of Navarro Lane, near the city of Irondale. Upon arrival, they found 27-year-old Joshua Hayes suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
