On September 11, 2022, at approximately 5:55 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and a citizen's report of two adult males shot in the 5600 block of Avenue I in the Ensley neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers found 29-year-old Deandrea Martez Moore lying in the yard of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
