On June 27, 2022, at approximately 8:40 p.m., 59-year-old Benjamin Lee Doaks was found unresponsive in the roadway on the 200 block of 6th Place North in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding officers from the North Precinct discovered Doaks lying in the street, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel. The preliminary investigation indicated that Doaks sustained injuries during a physical altercation, leading to his death.
