On October 21, 2018, 23-year-old Darryl Lavon Seay was fatally shot outside his residence at The Park at Hoover Apartments in Hoover, Alabama. The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m., when officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Seay with gunshot wounds in front of his building. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m.
