On December 16, 2020, the life of 21-year-old Jason Antonio Ford Jr. was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. The young man, known affectionately as "Doodie" to his family and "Li Jason" to his friends, was discovered shot to death inside a vehicle in a city alleyway.
A graduate of Carver High School in 2018, Jason was remembered for his passion for life and his love of basketball and football.
He was a talented athlete who had earned several MVP titles and, in his senior year, achieved the distinction of making All-City and surpassing 1,000 scoring points in basketball. His friends and family recalled his leadership on and off the court, his motivating spirit, and his immense love for those around him. He was known for his loyalty and his willingness to always be there for his friends, often putting their needs before his own.
His sudden and violent death left a void in the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, a nephew, and a niece, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who remembered his love for the game and his infectious laughter.
Despite the tragic circumstances of his death, information regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects has not been made publicly available.
