On January 26, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot at 1600 Pearson Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered 25-year-old Deshandra Lashode Bell inside a store, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Bell was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
