On August 12, 2022, at approximately 1:45 AM, Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 900 block of 4th Avenue West. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Courtney Montez Craig slumped over inside a vehicle, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
