On August 9, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in unincorporated Crystal Lake, Illinois, resulting in the deaths of four family members, including 32-year-old Lauren Smith-Song. Authorities responded to a 911 call at approximately 3:56 a.m. reporting that a household member had shot their relatives.
