In the quiet community of Manchester near Jasper, Alabama, a domestic argument on a Saturday evening shattered the peace and ended a life. On September 10, 2022, 61-year-old Roger Wolfe, a White male, was fatally shot at his residence on Fall City Road. The Walker County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to find Wolfe deceased outside his home.
The preliminary investigation, aided by witness statements, quickly pointed to a suspect within the family circle.
Wolfe's 40-year-old stepson, Jamie Lee Vines, was identified as the shooter. The fatal shot was reportedly fired during the course of a domestic dispute between the two men. Vines was taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to the Walker County Jail.
Two days after the shooting, on September 12, 2022, a warrant for intentional murder was secured against Jamie Lee Vines. He appeared before District Court Judge Henry Allred, who set his bond at $250,000 cash. While the investigation remains ongoing, authorities have stated they do not believe any other suspects are involved in the death of Roger Wolfe.
