In the spring of 2022, the life of Spencer Lamar Reeves, Jr., a 25-year-old male from Talladega, Alabama, was cut tragically short. Known affectionately to his friends and family as 'Boo-Man,' Spencer was born on February 4, 1997. He was a familiar face in his community, having been educated in the Talladega City School system and having attended Talladega High School.
Remembered for his great sense of humor and a beautiful smile that could light up any room, he departed this life on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
The circumstances surrounding his death pointed to a violent end, as law enforcement quickly began a homicide investigation. It was determined that Spencer had been the victim of a shooting. In the days following the incident, the Talladega Police Department announced progress in their search for those responsible.
Authorities moved swiftly and took one individual into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. Keontae Threat was arrested and faced a capital murder warrant for his alleged involvement in Spencer Reeves' death. The investigation did not stop there, as police also actively sought two other individuals. A capital murder warrant was issued for Chantavius Twyman, and a hindering prosecution warrant was put out for Tara Calhoun, both of whom were wanted for their connection to the case. The community was left to mourn the loss of a young man while the search for justice continued.
