On October 10, 2021, Christian Deon Raspberry, a 20-year-old from Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot in the Inglenook neighborhood. The incident began around 2:15 p.m. when Birmingham police and firefighters responded to a ShotSpotter call and 911 reports of a male firing a weapon at another person in the 100 block of 5th Avenue South West.
