Courtney Jan Ashley, age 35, was fatally shot in a tragic incident on May 16, 2021, while walking her dog near Brother Bryan Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The police responded to reports of gunfire around 6:30 a.m., where they found Ashley severely injured and her companion, 34-year-old Brian Anthony Adkins, deceased on the scene. Both were later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner.
