On October 18, 2021, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Valley Road in Fairfield, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Antwaun Demaun Horn lying unresponsive in an alley behind an abandoned house at 317 Valley Road. Horn had sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to UAB West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
