On March 15, 2019, 26-year-old Jamel Peppins was fatally shot in Fairfield, Alabama. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Seminole Circle, where Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Peppins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
