Emmit King, a 62-year-old former University of Alabama track star and Olympian, was fatally shot on November 28, 2021, in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. outside a residence on the 800 block of 22nd Street North, where King and 60-year-old Willie Albert Wells, who were acquainted, engaged in a heated argument.
