On December 1, 2020, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 3500 block of Avenue P in the Ensley Highlands neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Nathan Chandler Wooten lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported Wooten to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
