On May 28, 2022, 46-year-old Michael Arellano was fatally shot in Tucumcari, New Mexico, during his son's high school graduation party. The celebration, intended to honor his son's achievement, took a tragic turn following a verbal altercation between Arellano and 42-year-old Tyje Garrett, who was also in attendance.
