On November 10, 2020, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at 1024 12th Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Derick Williams lying unresponsive on the sidewalk outside the residence. Inside the home, officers found 65-year-old Loretta Frazier deceased from gunshot wounds.
