On June 16, 2020, at approximately 1:31 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a call reporting a person down in the 10 block of Avenue W. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Akeem Travonte Davis lying unresponsive in an alley, with no visible signs of injury. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
