On May 12, 2020, Jesse James Johnson, a 68-year-old male from Birmingham, Alabama, lost his life to gun violence. The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. when officers from the West Precinct of the Birmingham Police Department responded to a call of a person shot at 1505 14th Street SW. Upon arrival, officers found Johnson lying in the road, unresponsive with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
