On April 6, 2020, 51-year-old Quintin Dewayne Martin was critically injured in a vehicular incident on the I-65 South access ramp at Daniel Payne Drive in Birmingham, Alabama. According to reports, Martin exited a small sedan and began walking in the opposite direction on the ramp. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 50-year-old Patrice Lawson-Williams, allegedly drove down the ramp in the wrong direction and struck Martin from behind before fleeing the scene.
