On December 28, 2019, 48-year-old Ricky Lane Hunter Jr. was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred just before 2:00 p.m. at the Riviera West apartment complex, located in the 1500 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue in the city's West End area. Upon arrival, Birmingham Police officers found Hunter unresponsive in the parking lot, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
