On October 17, 2019, at approximately 2:30 p.m., 39-year-old Towan Troy Lee was found deceased in the roadway at the intersection of 93rd Street North and 7th Court North in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding officers from the East Precinct observed Lee lying unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel and the Jefferson County Coroner. Evidence at the scene prompted investigators to classify the case as a homicide.
