On January 21, 2020, at approximately 2:25 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a call at 2128 Northland Avenue, where they found 25-year-old De'Runnya Wilson unresponsive inside his home. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced Wilson deceased. Evidence at the scene led detectives to classify the case as a homicide.
