On April 7, 2009, 26-year-old Aaron C. Freeman was fatally shot during a gunfight on the 1600 block of 21st Place North in Birmingham's Druid Hills neighborhood. The altercation resulted in Freeman's death and left a suspect injured, who was subsequently transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.
