On November 9, 2020, 18-year-old Ja'Mari Demetrius Harris was fatally shot at the Park Brook Apartments in Center Point, Alabama. Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Harris, a resident of the complex, with a gunshot wound to the chest; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
