On the evening of March 9, 2019, 30-year-old Wendell Lee Bonner was driving home after spending time with his family at a restaurant in the Center Point area of Alabama. In a sudden and violent turn of events, he was fatally shot while in his vehicle. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the scene to investigate the shooting, which was reported to have occurred around Hillview Avenue and 5th Street N.W.
