On February 5, 2023, 59-year-old Phillip Edward Lankford was found deceased near a stairwell at the Woodside Condominiums on Shadowood Circle NE in Center Point, Alabama. Responding to reports of a body around 9 a.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies discovered Lankford had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene.
