In the early evening of Sunday, October 13, 2019, the life of 21-year-old Benjamin Elio Gonzalez was tragically cut short in Center Point, Alabama. Just before 7 p.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office were called to the 1800 block of Martinique Drive following reports of gunfire in the residential area. Upon their arrival, they discovered Gonzalez, a male victim, who had succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators began a thorough homicide investigation,
meticulously collecting tangible evidence and reviewing video footage from the area. The evidence gathered by detectives quickly pointed them toward a person of interest. Their investigation led them to 19-year-old Frank Jamall Stelle.
Within days of the fatal shooting, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office announced a significant development in the case. Based on the evidence presented to the District Attorney's Office, Frank Jamall Stelle was arrested and subsequently charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Benjamin Elio Gonzalez. Due to the severity of the charge, he was held without bond.
