On May 11, 2021, 24-year-old Jermaine James Kidd was fatally shot at the Summit Ridge Apartments on Haversham Circle in the Center Point area of Jefferson County, Alabama. Earlier that day, around 1:30 p.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report that Kidd had threatened and assaulted a female resident at the apartment complex.
