Camari DeVaught Tyus

Camari DeVaughn Tyus, a 17-year-old male, was killed by a gunshot on the afternoon of February 4, 2021, in Center Point, Alabama. Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of 19th Court NE after reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found Tyus dead at the scene, the moment already heavy with the kind of stunned silence that follows a sudden, violent break in what had been an ordinary day.
