On March 21, 2020, 21-year-old Jason Mendiola was fatally shot during a house party in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred on the 600 block of Bell Street, where a dispute escalated, leading to multiple gunshots. Mendiola and another individual, 21-year-old Javier Monzon Mendoza, were pronounced dead at the scene.
