On November 25, 2019, at approximately 12:00 PM, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office received a call reporting a possible shooting in the 100 block of Nelson Circle, near Montevallo, Alabama. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 24-year-old Marquis Derius Fields deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Another individual at the scene was found injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
