Birmingham police are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was found Monday morning outside the garage of a house at 1700 4th Court West, according to his family and authorities.

Melvin Roshard Jackson, 25, of Birmingham, had been reported missing that morning after not returning home Sunday, his mother said today.Jackson's body was found at 8:40 a.m. by West Precinct officers investigating a report of a person down in the area.
