On June 3, 2019, 23-year-old Tavaris "Varis" Honor and his mother, 48-year-old Catherine Shaunette Honor, were found fatally shot at their residence in the 200 block of 57th Street in Fairfield, Alabama. Fairfield police responded to the scene early Monday morning, discovering Tavaris in the front yard and Catherine inside the home. Both had sustained gunshot wounds.
