On June 20, 2019, 27-year-old Santos Valasquez Merida was fatally shot in Brighton, Alabama. The incident occurred at the Holiday Mobile Home Park, located in the 4300 block of Bessemer Super Highway. Merida was found with gunshot wounds and was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
