In the small community of Brighton, Alabama, the evening of June 15, 2017, was shattered by violence that claimed the life of 39-year-old Eric Dewayne Dalton. A Black male, Dalton was discovered outside his own home on Council Avenue, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. The tranquility of the neighborhood was broken at approximately 10:20 PM when emergency services were summoned to the scene in response to reports of a shooting.
