On March 30, 2019, 26-year-old Tavarus Jamal Johnson was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Longbrook Drive. Bessemer Police officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Johnson with gunshot wounds. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:03 p.m.
