On the evening of September 3, 2022, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to multiple ShotSpotter alerts indicating gunfire in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue West. Upon arrival, officers discovered 25-year-old Marquse Terrail Yarbrough and 24-year-old Jalen Tolbert lying in the roadway, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
