A man is shot to death at an eastern Birmingham apartment complex In the early hours of a February morning in 2015, the life of 29-year-old Tydarius Dewayne Adams, a Black male, was cut short in a hail of bullets at an east Birmingham apartment complex. The fatal encounter unfolded around 12:30 a.m. on February 5th at the Watertown Apartments on Watertown Circle.
Responding to a call of shots fired, East Precinct officers discovered Adams lying in a breezeway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators believe that Adams had gone to the parking lot to meet with someone when an altercation occurred. As he attempted to flee, he was shot several times.
Police officials stated at the time that they believed the shooting stemmed from illegal drug activity. Despite this lead, the investigation into the death of Tydarius Adams has not publicly yielded any suspects. Court records indicated that Adams himself did not have a criminal history.
In the years that have passed since he was killed, there have been no announcements of arrests made in connection with his death. The case remains one of Birmingham's unsolved homicides, leaving a family without answers and a killer still at large. Authorities have previously asked for anyone with information to come forward.
