The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, July 22, 2022.
At approximately 2:40 p.m., officers from the South Precinct were dispatched to the 4500 Block of 6th Avenue South in response to a "Person Down" call inside a residence. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and found Reed Anderson Rigsby lying unresponsive.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced Rigsby deceased.
