An 18 year old female is found murdered in the Seashore State Park In the late summer of 1979, the life of a young Virginia Beach woman was tragically cut short, leaving behind a mystery that has lingered for decades. Eighteen-year-old Alice Margaret Eskew, a petite white female with long blonde hair and dark eyes, was last seen on the evening of Tuesday, September 4th. She left her home in the 3100 block of Arctic Avenue, walking toward Laskin Road just as dusk began to settle over the coastal city.
When she did not return that evening, her family grew worried and filed a missing person's report with the police.
A grim discovery was made two days later, on the afternoon of Thursday, September 6, 1979. Alice's body was found in a densely wooded area of what was then known as Seashore State Park, just off Shore Drive. An autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner's Office determined that the cause of her death was blunt force trauma, leading authorities to rule her death a homicide.
