A man is found shot to death in his car
On June 30, 1980, 25-year-old Gary Nolen Romano was found shot to death in his blue 1977 Chevrolet pickup truck. His vehicle was discovered parked on the shoulder of Interstate 81 South, near mile marker 94 in Pulaski County, Virginia. The truck was locked but both doors were closed, and it appeared Romano had been shot while he was sleeping in the vehicle. A construction worker made the grim discovery.
